Success for nanoFlowcell at the Geneva Motor Show 2016
Geneva, 16 March 2015 – "Flow cell technology has finally become instilled in the automobile industry's collective consciousness," observes Prof. Jens Ellermann, President of the Board of Directors of nanoFlowcell AG, taking stock of nanoFlowcell's successful appearance at the Motor Show in Geneva. With the QUANT F and the QUANTiNO, the company based in Kilchberg presented two successful world premieres from the QUANT product family "powered by nanoFlowcell®". "The great interest shown in professional circles and the positive response from many visitors provide a highly positive outlook for the further development of our company. We see the combination of the nanoFlowcell® with low-voltage systems as pointing the way to the future of electric mobility and as a genuine alternative to existing systems," emphasises Nunzio La Vecchia, Chief Technical Officer at nanoFlowcell AG.
"The 2015 Geneva International Motor Show was a great success for nanoFlowcell. We had many good discussions with potential collaborators and investors. We're spoilt for choice at the moment – but that is a very good position for the further development of our company," states Prof. Jens Ellermann, referring to the great interest in nanoFlowcell, the QUANT vehicles and the nanoFlowcell® drive technology.
"We are currently receiving so much encouragement from potential collaborators and people who are interested in our project, so that it is only logical for us to consider an initial public offering as a way of making this pioneering technology available to the general public. And as the nanoFlowcell® is also a far-reaching energy and mobility project, we are already in contact with relevant officials at EU level in order to present the benefits and the diverse scope of potential applications for flow cell technology. Close cooperation with the political decision-makers is vital, if we are to introduce this innovative and environment-friendly technology into widespread use," says Nunzio La Vecchia.
As the first QUANT low-voltage vehicle with nanoFlowcell® drive train, the new QUANTiNO caused a stir at its world premiere in Geneva with its range of over 1000 km. "nanoFlowcell AG believes in the combination of flow cell and low-voltage system. We consider this the perfect basis for successful and sustainable electric mobility of the future. Low-voltage systems in combination with flow cell technology harbour great potential for large ranges and excellent performance figures," says Nunzio La Vecchia. We will be demonstrating the performance and, in particular, the vast range with the QUANTiNO at a live event in the course of this year. Further details will be announced in due course," says La Vecchia.
About nanoFlowcell AG
nanoFlowcell, founded in late 2013, is an innovative research and development company. The research of nanoFlowcell focuses on advancing the flow cell drive system technology and systematics. With the granting of a road-use licence by SGS TÜV Saar in July 2014 and the associated driving permit for German and European roads nanoFlowcell has introduced the first-ever car using flow cell drive technology to our roads – the QUANT E. The next milestone for the company will be obtaining the permit to go into series production and developing other uses for the nanoFlowcell® in different sectors of industry and business. Two 100% subsidiaries of nanoFlowcell were established for this purpose – nanoProduction GmbH in Waldshut/Germany.

nanoFlowcell Holdings plc
nanoFlowcell Holdings plc, based in London, is a research and development company focused on energy technology and AI systems, with subsidiaries in Switzerland, the United States, and Germany.
nanoFlowcell® is the proprietary flow-cell energy technology developed by the company. Unlike conventional batteries, a nanoFlowcell® is not recharged via the electrical grid—it is refueled with bi-ION®, a specially formulated liquid electrolyte that is toxicologically safe, non-flammable, and environmentally compatible. Similar to the fuel tanks in internal combustion engines, the energy capacity of a nanoFlowcell® system is determined by the size of the bi-ION® storage tanks, allowing scalable energy storage without reliance on external charging infrastructure.
Under the QUANT brand, nanoFlowcell develops mobile and stationary applications powered by its proprietary technology. A key demonstrator is the QUANTiNO twentyfive, a road-legal electric sports car with a 48V low-voltage nanoFlowcell® drivetrain. It offers a driving range of up to 2,000 kilometres—without conventional batteries. QUANT demonstrates the potential for sustainable, emission-free electromobility without compromising functionality, safety, or comfort.
The term n-AI (nanoFlowcell Artificial Intelligence) refers to the company’s expertise in advanced AI architectures, energy-efficient computing, and secure, quantum-inspired systems for use in robotics, critical infrastructure, and intelligent automation.
